The evolving nature of public health concerns and continuous improvement of existing vaccination strategies keep VRBPAC active. But VRBPAC also convenes often to hear, discuss, and make recommendations on issues impacting research and the public health. A prime example is the annual discussion on the selection of strains to be included in the influenza virus vaccine for the upcoming influenza season. Another is the VRBPAC's contribution to products targeted against the threats of bioterrorism.
